School is in English. Achchi's video calls are in Sinhala.
Children growing up in Melbourne, London or Toronto pick up English fast. Sinhala needs a little help at home, and good, modern materials are hard to find outside Sri Lanka. So we made some.
Made for parents, too
English instructions, a simple sound guide and the meaning of every word, even if your own Sinhala is rusty.
Ten minutes a day
Each page is one small win: say the sound, trace the letter, trace the word. Little and often works best.
Print-friendly
Mostly black-and-white line art, so it's easy on ink. Slip pages into a plastic sleeve to reuse with a whiteboard marker.
Download. Print. Trace.

Who makes Hodiya Kids?
Hodiya Kids is a small project based in Sri Lanka. We design the pages with the help of AI tools, and a native Sinhala speaker checks every letter and word before a book is released. If you ever spot a mistake, tell us. We'll fix it and send you the updated file free.
